Enable Customized Computing in Data-Center Scale Applications
Founded in 2014, Falcon Computing leverages multi-year research outcome and experience from the Center Domain Specific Computing (CDSC) at UCLA, funded by a $10M award under the Expeditions in Computing program from the National Science Foundation in 2009. The CDSC Director, Prof. Jason Cong (http://vast.cs.ucla.edu/people/faculty/jason-cong) is a key co-founder of this company. He is a highly regarded researcher in customized computing, also a very successful serial entrepreneur (founded/co-founded three startups in the past 15 years, all have been acquired by large public companies). Other co-founders/leaders of the company are key researchers from CDSC or veterans from the FPGA industry.
Falcon Computing has its headquarter in Los Angeles, California, with offices in Beijing, China and Silicon Valley (in preparation). It closed the Series A financing in early 2015, with lead investment from one of the largest Internet service providers worldwide, and a group of seasoned strategic investors and venture partners. Falcon received the highly competitive Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) grant from the National Science Foundation in May 2015.
