Prof. Jason Cong, Falcon co-founder and chief scientific advisor, has been selected to receive the IEEE Computer Society 2016 Technical Achievement Award for his outstanding contributions in computer and information science and engineering. The society cited Cong “for setting the algorithmic foundations for high-level synthesis of field programmable gate arrays.”
Merlin Compiler from Falcon is built on top of high-level synthesis (HLS) research in Prof. Cong’s lab at UCLA to provide a highly optimized and automated FPGA compilation flow for software engineers. The compiler can cover a wide range of architecture and computation patterns to support generation of massive parallel customized processing arrays for scalable and efficient FPGA resource utilization.
